The Problem Solving for Better Health® (PSBH®) program in Lesotho was established in partnership with the Boston University School of Public Health. In addition there is also a Problem Solving for Better Hospitals program in place. The first PSBH workshop in Lesotho was held in Maseru in April 2004 and focused on HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention. The objective of the program is to produce a cadre of 300 motivated people who, at the completion of each workshop:

- Recognize that they have the skills and knowledge to identify and solve problems related to HIV/AIDS and/or affecting the efficiency and quality of medical care, particularly hospital services
- Understand the obstacles to mounting successful interventions and have the skills and commitment to repeatedly apply the PSBH methodology
- Leave with a "can do," activist spirit throughout the health sector
- Feel empowered and responsible for taking action on their own initiative and understand that this is in their interest, the interest of their organization, and the nation
- Train sufficient hospital and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOH and SW) personnel in PSBH techniques in order to produce a critical mass of change agents in the health sector who can not only act, but can train others to act
