The Problem Solving for Better Health (PSBH®) program is active in the 13 regional cities of Ukraine, in collaboration with the SALUS Charitable Foundation in Lviv, a non-governmental organization (NGO) created in 1996 and the Lviv branch of the Ukrainian Medical Association that works in the field of health promotion and disease prevention. The main objective of the program is the improvement of health in the Ukraine.

In 2001, the Communications for Better Health® (CBH®) program was established. With the assistance of an editorial board, the Ukrainian Information Health Bulletin digest is produced and distributed four times per year. The program also supports the information needs of its readers, the majority of whom are health professionals and students, by conducting database searches on requested topics and providing full-text delivery of articles. The digest is an important educational tool for raising awareness about different health prevention and promotion activities.

The Ukrainian Information Health Bulletin contains information in Ukrainian and English. Basic health information, Best Practices, workshop and project information, program announcements, and articles written by local authors comprise the digest content. Since the inception of the program, there has been a significant increase in the number of local authors submitting articles for publication. Health topics covered in the digest include famine in Ukraine, HIV/AIDS, "Mad cow" disease, prion infections, SARS, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs/STIs), and tuberculosis.
