We know that you care how information about you is used and shared. This Privacy Policy describes the way that we collect and handle your information.

By visiting the DHF Web site or submitting your personal identifying information to us, you accept the terms described in this Privacy Policy. From time to time we may revise this Privacy Policy. The new provisions will be effective as soon as they are posted. Please check this page periodically to ensure that you are aware of any change. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into the User Agreement that governs the use of the DHF Web site.

Collection and Use of Information
We collect personal identifying information only when you voluntarily submit such information on the DHF database registration form in order to gain access to the DHF database regarding DHF’s various projects. To register for the database, you must submit your first and last name, email address, and country. As an option, we also ask for your state/province, city, town or district, gender, and how you heard about us. We use the personal identifying information you submit to determine how we can improve our Web site and encourage use of the database. We will use your name and email address to send you information from time to time about DHF’s activities and projects or other information we think may interest you. If you do not wish to receive these informational emails, please check the appropriate box in the registration form, or contact us at postmaster@dhfglobal.org, or at (212) 750-5075.

We also collect anonymous information that we automatically collect from all visitors to the DHF Web site. Our server automatically records the Internet Protocol addresses of all visitors. We may also use cookies to track traffic on specific areas of the DHF Web site. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser. Most Internet browsers will let you disable cookies, if you choose. This information is anonymous, and we do not link it to the personal identifiable information that you submit. We use the anonymous information we collect automatically to evaluate how our visitors use and navigate the DHF Web site on an aggregate basis, including the number and frequency of visitors to each Web page and the length of their visits.

Sharing Information
We may share your information with DHF's National coordinator for your area, who may wish to contact you regarding DHF workshops and services. If you do not wish us to share your information with your coordinator, please check the appropriate box in the registration form, or you can contact us at postmaster@dhfglobal.org, or at (212) 750-5075.

We may also share your personal identifying information with companies that perform services to maintain the DHF Web site (such as changing content and providing hosting services and maintenance). These companies use your information only for the purpose of providing these services to us.

We may disclose and use personal identifying information in special circumstances when it is necessary to enforce our User Agreement or this Privacy Policy, or when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires us to disclose your personal information to third parties.

Children
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the DHF Web site. We will not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, unless it is to respond to a one-time request, after which we will delete the information.

Security
The personal identifying information we collect from you is stored on a secure, password-protected server. Only authorized personnel have access to your information. Despite our best efforts, no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, you provide us with your information at your own risk.

Transfer to the United States
If you are located outside the United States, please note that the information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States and that by registering with the DHF Web site, you consent to this transfer and the storage of the data in the United States.
