Who We Are The Dreyfus Health Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that challenges individuals to think differently about, and take action to solve, the health and social issues affecting their communities. The Foundation believes that poverty is not the problem; the problem is that the poor are too often denied opportunities to initiate change. Concerned about this situation, DHF’s Director, Dr. Barry H. Smith, created the Problem Solving for Better Health® (PSBH®) methodology to empower individuals to create change in their communities. Launched in 1989 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, over 30,000 people of all ages and from all walks of life have participated in DHF’s PSBH programs, generating over 20,000 active and completed better-health projects, benefiting over six million people in more than 30 countries. |
